bubblegum and gravel

raveonettes_album.jpgIf you haven't yet, it's time to check out The Raveonettes. The Danish duo exists in an anachronism of their own creation, where 1950's bubblegum girl bands harmonize sweetly on top of the gravelly guitars of the Jesus and Mary Chain. Thrown in some of the reverby, feedback-laden sound of Kevin Shields' experimental production phase with My Bloody Valentine, and the dark lyrical content of early Velvet Underground, and you're there – a crunchy, fuzzy, sweet place, where you'll want to hang out for hours.
